1st Grade Team Announcement – Round 14

1st Grade Team Announcement

Back to back home games at North Syndey Oval is a delight, especially at this time of year.

As we turn the corner nearing the final month of competition, 3 of our last 4 games are at home!

North Sydney Oval has been the host to many great rivalries and especially the growing rivalry between Norths and Warringah.

Recently kicked off with a Qualifying Final showdown in 2016.
Since then Norths and Warringah have met 6 times in 3 seasons and currently share the spoils 3 apiece, with an average of 7 points splitting the two teams.

Having met on North Sydney Oval in both the 2017 Grand Final & 2018 Semi-Final, there is everything to play for in this round 14 battle.

This weeks Team Announcement is headlined by Will Miller reaching 100 Grade Games.
A premiership captain, Ken Catchpole Medal winner and capped Super Rugby player with the Rebels & the Waratahs. Will is the spiritual leader of this 1st Grade Team and has been a rock since joining the club in 2012.

Miller is joined in the forward pack by Connor Vest (lock) who returns from a week off with a knee niggle & Patrick Tafa (back row), Patrick returned from the Junior Wallabies via the reserves bench last week adding some sheer size to the forward pack.

After running the water for two weeks, Harry Burey makes his return following a nasty concussion against West Harbour, ironically he replaces Angus Sinclair at fly-half who suffered his own head knock at training mid-week.

At the back Reece Mauu’ returns from his knee niggle and comes in at the expense of Connor Winchester, who too has been in some fine form.

OUT: Declan Carroll (2nd Grade), Garry Bautz (2nd Grade),  Angus Sinclair (Concussion), Connor Winchester (2nd Grade)
IN:  Connor Vest, Patrick Tafa, Harry Burey Reece Mauu’
