Meet Patrick Tafa,

Standing at 194cm and 108kg it’s hard to believe he is still eligible for Colts and will compete head to head for a spot in the 1st grade back row throughout the season.

Of Samoan heritage Patrick hails from Brisbane, having previously been apart of Sunnybank Rugby Club and Brisbane State High School.

His rise through the ranks of the of QLD schoolboys system and club rugby scene saw Patrick debut with the QLD U20’s at just 18years old, before catching the eyes of those south of the border.

Relocating to NSW as part of the GEN Blue Squad, Patrick’s recent efforts have seen him invited into the recent Junior Wallabies camps, in preparation for the 2018 Junior World Championships.

Ahead of his first game in the Red and Black in Norths trial v West Harbour, Saturday, March 10th.

Head Coach Shannon Fraser expressed his excitement at the prospects of working with Tafa throughout the year.

“He’s a big bloke with an excellent set of skills and a work ethic to match his high aspirations,” Fraser said

“Since arriving late last year he has made significant gains, both physically and technically and has met every challenge put to him – on and off the field”

“He has a big future in the game, I’m just pleased he’ll be wearing the red and black” added Fraser
