Northern Suburbs head into the Round 4 top of the table clash with the undefeated Sydney University with one extra ace up their sleeve.

With the Waratahs players enjoying their ‘bye week’ from Super Rugby, Will Miller couldn’t resist getting back in the Red and Black for Northern Suburbs on Saturday in Bowral.

Miller who has enjoyed a string of Super Rugby caps with the Waratahs since joining them this season has been itching to pull on the Norths jersey in 2018 for some time. After returning to Norths in the 2nd trial against Randwick back in March, this will be Wills first competition match for Norths this season.

Will joins fellow NSW Waratahs and Norths players Cam Clark, Irae Simone, Nick Palmer, JP Sauni and Kali Tawake in the side for Saturday’s game as Norths travel to the Southern Highlands.

Always keen to be around the Norths group, Will and the rest of the Norths Waratahs contingent are always regulars at both Tuesday and Thursday night training. Something Coach Shannon Fraser admits is great for the group moving forward “to have players come straight back from Super Rugby and know our calls and structures is very helpful and speaks volumes of the group and the players who want to come back to club rugby”.

Nick Palmer was a late inclusion in last weeks Round 3 win over Eastwood. After playing a role from the bench in the Waratahs Friday night loss to the Lions, Nick was hungry for extra game time and chose to back up for Northern Suburbs less than 24hours after his Super Rugby stint.

Fellow Norths Waratahs players Michael Wells and Bryce Hegarty who have enjoyed big roles and big minutes for the Waratahs this season have been kept on ice ahead a big month coming up in Super Rugby.
