Northern Suburbs ‘Club Legends’ who have fiercely racked up over 100 games or more will once again take the field this Saturday.
Round 13’s Home Game v Gordon marks the age-old traditional north shore rivalry between Northern Suburbs and Gordon Rugby Club.
With a Super Saturday of rugby at North Sydney Oval and Bon Andrews Oval, both 1st Grade and 1st Colts will run out in their respective games wearing a specially designed jersey capturing all the names of those who have played 100 games or more.
As previous years when the 1st Grade team has donned the original pirate’s strip (2016), the 2018 jersey is a certainly a collectors edition. With a heritage look and feel, the jersey is a throwback to the old cotton jersey days with full hoops, a thick white collar and a patch for the sewn on playing number.
Featuring names like Gavin “Bon” Andrews, this jersey was created to embrace the history of all those who’ve given so much for the jersey over the years, whether it was in 1st Grade or 4th Grade, the ‘Club Legends’ will get a chance to run out on North Sydney Oval again this Saturday.
Both sets of 1st Grade and 1st Colts Jerseys will be up for auction throughout the day via silent auction form at the merchandise tent.
1st Grade head into the match following 3 losses and bye, looking to regain some momentum heading toward the final rounds of the competition. When they last met (Round 7) it was Norths running out big victors 97 points to 14.
On the back of a narrow loss to Eastwood (19-20) 1st Colts are looking to bounce back in order to keep their finals destiny in their own hands. Gordon who sit 3rd will prove a tough game and will be one not to be missed at 11.30am on Field 1.
