DEFENCE COACH, MATT GORDON TAKES A BREAK IN 2024

Northern Suburbs wish to thank Defence Coach Matt Gordon for his services and dedication to Norths over the past few seasons as he’s taking a break from coaching in 2024 to spend more time with his growing family.
Matt joined the club in 2016 as a coach working his way through the grades, taking over as Defence Coach for First Grade in 2021.
Since Matt’s involvement in the First Grade Program, Norths have been in the Top 2 Defensive teams for the past 3 consecutive seasons; which is a true testament to Matt’s defensive philosophies.
Head Coach Zak Beer said, “It’s been a pleasure to see Matt grow and develop as a coach within our program. Matt is a first-class person and has a true ability to connect with the players together with having built an outstanding Defensive mindset. He embodies everything we’re about at Norths”.
Matt will be taking 2024 to spend more time with his young and growing family however will still be around adding pieces of wisdom where possible. We wish Matt all the best and look forward to welcoming him back one day.
We will be announcing Matt’s replacement for 2024, along with the rest of our 2024 Coaching Staff over the coming weeks.
