DHL WORKING ASONE TO DELIVER WHEELCHAIR AND IMPROVE LIVES

________________________________________

When Peter Carson, ex Wallabies halfback from Sydney’s Northern Suburbs, reached out to DHL Express Australia to help transport a special standing power wheelchair for his son Sam Carson, who is also an ex-Norths Rugby player – from Cairns to Sydney, our team without hesitation worked on it right away to help deliver this special wheelchair to Sam.

The story of Sam is one of a tragic accident that occurred back in October 2009. Sam was only 27 years old when he fell four stories during a party, causing traumatic brain injury.

Sam’s family purchased this special wheelchair which cost over $30k, to help improve Sam’s life.

Connecting people, improving lives – is our motto and we do it with so much heart.

With the power of our network, and our amazing Operations team, they managed to organise the safe transportation of this very special wheelchair to Sam safely and as quickly as possible.

It was a tag-team effort between DHL Express and DHL Supply Chain. With DHL Express Cairns picking up the wheelchair from the supplier, putting it onto a pallet, and wrapped it for DHL Supply Chain to safely transport it to Sydney via Brisbane. Then once in Sydney, DHL Express delivered it to the Carson family in Collaroy.

This is just another fantastic example of DHL working AsOne to deliver a much-needed special wheelchair to help improve Sam’s life.

Peter Carson sent his sincere thanks to DHL and everyone involved, whilst Sam’s mother was in tears of appreciation.

If you want to read more on Sam’s story and provide some support, just head over to his Fresh Tracks charity page. All money raised here will help Sam with his rehabilitation.

Thanks DHL
