Thank you all for the tremendous support in 2021 in what was a frustrating year for all of us involved in community sport.
The 2022 club campaign is underway. We are building very nicely and are in a great position to once again be in the top 4 in 1st Grade. A position we have held every year since 2016.
As you will read further on in this newsletter, the Board is excited to announce a partnership with Norths Collective in 2022 and beyond. This will involve a number of significant benefits for both organisations, with one feature being the new after match function at The Greens, which is a short stroll from North Sydney Oval. I’m sure a number of Old Boys will enjoy looking down at Alfred Street with a refreshment post game, and recounting the many stories that have come out of the old clubhouse.
Congratulations to our Executive General Manager Jack Burey, and Norths Collective CEO Luke Simmons, on working together on this, and, what a great way to pull all our local community clubs together and in alignment.
The 2022 season will also see the club announce a new Patron in February, replacing the late, great John Thornett who passed away in 2019. It has been my absolute pleasure to speak with every one of our Honorary Life Members and get their recommendation on who should fill the very big shoes left by John and the Board has approved his successor last week.
In another disrupted year, I hope all of you have a safe Christmas and get to spend time with the people who matter the most to you. The Northern Suburbs family will be together again very soon and I can’t wait to see you at the best ground in Sydney, or at the post match function in our new venue.
