Nick Palmer Joins the Board

Northern Suburbs Rugby are pleased to announce the appointment of Nick Palmer to the Board.

Nick has played a big role with Norths over 7 seasons since joining the club in 2014, which has included the 2016 1st Grade Premiership and in 2020 Nick was named 1st Grade Captain as well as 2020 Club Captain.

While amassing 81 Grade Games, Nick also forged a strong representative career with the Sydney Rays, Hawkes Bay & the NSW Waratahs.

Forced to retire in early 2021 due to ongoing concussion symptoms, Nick joins the Norths Rugby Board with a strong emphasis on rugby and the Junior Development pathways.

"Nick is still close to the game having only retired after 2020. This newly formed portfolio will see him mentor players in their aspirations, especially around the transition from Colts to Grade as well as engage with our four Junior Clubs" says Club Chairman, Grahame O'Donnell.

Away from Rugby, Nick earned his qualifications in civil engineering from the University of Newcastle. Having completed a two-year graduate program with a construction materials company, where he developed his skills in the building industry. Nick later worked as a supervisor in hard rock transportation before joining APP and is an independent certifier on both the Sydney Light Rail and Parramatta Light Rail.
