Round 9, 2021 and Norths lead 29 - 24 at the 80th minute, by the 83rd, Easts had been awarded a penalty try and handed the victory. As the competition was suspended less than a fortnight later, this result stung in the memories of players and supporters alike through a grueling lockdown.
294 days later, Norths go back to Woollahra Oval where history counts for very little but no doubt a score that plenty are eager to settle.
Just two weeks ago the Shoremen were convincing in their 35 - 10 trial match win & will take great confidence from their strong trial form which included a gutsy 17-15 win over heavyweights Eastwood on Saturday.
Norths have injected some starch into the front row over the off-season, welcoming George Thornton and Apolosi Ranawai to the club. The two props will make their starting debuts alongside a very familiar back five and backline.
With a further 2 debutants named progressing from the '21 Colts program, Coach Zak Beer has wasted no time giving opportunities to two of the hardest workers over the off season.
Boston Kerapa (Backrow) // "The rangy backrower has a knack of poking through the line and is no stranger to streaking away for a long-range try".
Matt Ryan (Fullback) // "The extremely skilled utility with an equally impressive mullet, but don't be fooled Matt is one of the hardest workers at the club and his Goal Kicking is a testament to that".
Tickets are on sale & can be found here.
