The Shoremen Report // Round 10

Half-Time, and as the second half gets underway, some describe it as a new competition beginning. The race for a top 4 finish is heating up and as important as ever in a top 8 where 'upsets' have been aplenty.

After wins over Gordon and West Harbor, Norths looked to be back on track before running into a much improved Two Blues outfit buoyed by a vocal home crowd. Finishing with a flurry, scoring the last 3 tries of the game, it became all too late, again going down by the slimmest of margins.

Another 2 bonus points keep Norths in the top 4, 1-win from the lead and 1-win clear of 5th position, with 6 of the remaining 9 games, home at North Sydney Oval.

The challenge gets no easier, heading to the seaside Coogee Oval. 631 days since last taking on the myrtle green (Round 12, 2020) at our then home ground 'Rat Park'. The Galloping Greens limped past West Harbour 20-17 thanks to a late penalty goal, however, are always a tougher assignment at Coogee.

From Twickenham to Coogee, Norths welcome back Max Burey at Fly-Half which resumes regular centre pairing Harry Burey & Nathan Russell. Meanwhile, strong form sees Sam Shepherd rewarded with just his second 1st Grade start at lock.

IN: Sam Shepherd, Max Burey

OUT: Declan Carroll (2nd Grade), Tauteau Taufa (2nd Grade)
