The Shoremen Report: Round 10 v Warringah
Edging past the competition's halfway point, Norths and Warringah return to North Sydney well rested after the competition general bye.
A hiccup against Easts before the break put an end to Norths unbeaten streak, while the Rats were last start winners over norths beaches rivals Manly.
It is hoped the extra week's rest have given Angus Sinclair the time he has needed to recover from a lingering quad strain, which has put his run to 100 1st Grade Games on hold in the nineties.
Despite conceding two second-half penalty tries in their defeat to Easts, Norths put on a fantastic display of rugby and were buoyed by the return of James Turner who was strong on the right-wing. Max Burey continued a strong run of form leading the team from fly-half and Brad Hemopo was another handful for all counterparts looming on the edges.
For the visitors, livewire Ben Marr (shoulder) is a big out. Ben has driven a lot of their play from flyhalf or full-back over the past two seasons and a big part of their early-season form having missed the finals in 2020.
Warringah is expected to name a familiar team, strong in the midfield and on the fringes with regulars Tyson Davis and Seb Wileman and big upfront with Sam Needs and Rory O'Connor anchoring their scrum.
A full card of rugby through all 7 grades across North Sydney Oval and Bon Andrews and it shaped to another big day for the club.
