Norths continued their 6 year opening round winning record with a convincing win over Eastern Suburbs. While externally a lot was said about the last time the two teams met & the 7 month build-up to Round 1.

That narrative continues in the lead up to Round 2 v Warringah. The two clubs sharing a close rivalry in recent years as Norths look to end a 3 game string of defeats against the Rats. Including, what was eventually the final game of 2021.

Both opening round winners last week in significantly different manners. While Norths dominated Easts from the outset, a new look Rats were able to come from behind and defeat Sydney University in the final minutes.

Norths welcome back flyer James Turner who has had a strong start to the 2022 Super Rugby season before sustaining an ankle injury. He replaces Seb Cameron on the right wing, who put in a strong opening round performance.

Otherwise, Norths are unchanged with all 4 debutants giving a healthy account of themselves in the dominant opening round.
