The Shoremen Report // Round 3

Exactly 300 days since walking off North Sydney Oval & following wins in the opening 2 rounds, Norths make their long-awaited return home as one of only 2 unbeaten teams in the competition.

Captain Harry Burey described the round 2 win as "lucky" after conceding far too many penalties for his liking and inviting Warringah into the contest.

If round 1 was all about attack, round 2 was certainly all bout defence as Norths continued last season's trend of defending for long periods and making the most of opportunities when they arose.

Heading into their first home game, Norths can expect a physical encounter against a big Southern Districts pack who are coming off a narrow win over Manly and a 22 point loss to Gordon

Norths big man Apolosi Ranwai will be a big loss after withdrawing due to covid protocols and he is replaced by Jacob Barret who returns from a 6-month stint with the Leinster Academy.

After twin brother Matt Ryan made his 1st Grade debut a fortnight ago, Luke Ryan is set to make his debut replacing James Turner (Ankle) on the right-wing.

IN: Luke Ryan, Jacob Barrett
OUT: Jame Turner (Ankle), Apolosi Raawai (Covid Protocols)
