The Shoremen Report - Round 9

As halfway approaches, the ladder is beginning to take shape with the top 4 now having a little over a 4-point buffer on the next team. While the same goes for the next 4 (8th placed) over the final 4 who will miss the playoffs.

Northern Suburbs made it 2 on the bounce when they accounted for West Harbour at home & after 3 narrow losses some weeks ago, that winning feeling has now returned to the dressing room.

The bonus-point win did come at a cost though, as fly-half Angus Sinclair limped off with an ankle injury, in what will likely be some weeks on the sideline. Charlie Jeavons-Fellows too didn't see out the 80 minutes as he also looks likely for an extended rest on the sideline.

Heading to the newly constructed Eric Tweedale Stadium, built on the old Granville Park site. The Two Blues have stunned teams at their new base this season and will be a formidable challenge as they hope to break into 8th position and dream of a playoffs birth.

Following three 1st Grade Debuts last week, Tauteau Taufa will make his long-awaited 1st Grade Debut replacing Angus Sinclair in a reshuffled midfield. As a graduate from Norths Colts (2019) Tauteau was set for his debut near on 12 months ago right as the season was curtailed

Dave Henaway has been named to return to the starting XV, as has early rookie of year contender Boston Kerapa.

Meanwhile, some good news from the injury ward as James Turner looks set to return for some minutes on Saturday, having set Super Rugby alight before suffering an ankle injury.
