The Shoremen Report: Round 9 v Eastern Suburbs
Approaching the competition's halfway point, Round 9 shapes as the biggest round to date with all top 6 teams playing each other.
With 8 wins from 8 outings, Norths have shot to a one-point lead over Sydney University and face 4th placed Eastern Suburbs at Woollahra Oval this Saturday.
Easts have had a mixed bag to open the season with 5 wins and 3 losses. At times they have been scratchy in their wins over Southern Districts, Randwick & Hunter and overthrown by Eastwood and Sydney University and will certainly lament dropping their round 2 game to Manly.
Starting each season as competition hot favorites. Their 2020 campaign kicked off in a similar way, getting the better of Norths in the mid-season round 6 fixture before going on a run to the finals.
Norths will no doubt be wary of this form line and looking to further stamp their authority on the competition.
While the injury list continues to grow for the Shoremen, some cavalry is returning with Angus Sinclair back lining up at Fly Half and James Turner taking his position on the wing.
Dewald Dekker (Calf) and Charlie Jeavons-Fellows (Elbow) are recent casualties from last week's game against Manly and are replaced by Max Ma'a (Prop) and Gary Bautz (Backrow).
