The Shoremen Report: Round 2 v Wildfires

Following a strong opening round win over Penrith, it is business as usual for Norths preparing for Wildfires week and the next challenge that lay ahead.

The Shoremen avoided the away trip north when the Wildfires rejoined the competition last season and ran out winners 50 - 10 at the famous Bon Andrews Oval.

After a number of off seasons signings, the Wildfires will be upbeat for their first home match of the season despite an opening round loss to Sydney University. The Wildfires trailed 40 - 0 at halftime to claw back the 2nd half going down 56 - 24.

As competition front runners after the opening week, Norths are unchanged across the backline who shared 7 tries between them. With 2 changes in the forward pack, Dave Henaway rejoining the 2nd row after a minor back injury, he replaces Declan Carroll and new recruit Tyler Kearns will feature at Tight Head, replacing Dewald Dekker.

Meanwhile former Wildfires Jeremey Burrill will be looking for a big game against his former club following a strong debut in round 1.

If you can't make it up to Newcastle you can tune into Stan Sports with all games live across the competition in 2021.
