Northern Suburbs Women's Rugby Club
Looking to play women’s rugby in Sydney?
Whether you’re completely new to the game, returning after a break, or chasing elite-level rugby ambitions, the Norths Sirens offer one of Sydney’s most inclusive and fast-growing women’s rugby programs.
Based on Sydney’s Lower North Shore, the Norths Sirens compete in the Sydney Women’s Rugby Chikarovski Cup Division 2 XVs Competition, with additional opportunities for Rugby 7s or 10s throughout the year.
At Norths, we’re building more than a rugby team — we’re building a strong, supportive community where women can challenge themselves, make lifelong friendships, and fall in love with the game.

Norths Womens Rugby Season in 2026
The Norths Sirens currently compete in Sydney Women’s Rugby Chikarovski Cup (15s/XVs), with the winter season running from April to August.

Players also have opportunities throughout the year to:
- Compete in summer Rugby 7s competitions (September -March)
- Attend regional Rugby 7s & 10s tournaments
- Travel to events including Kiama, Mudgee, Warringah and other regional NSW competitions
These experiences help players develop skills, build confidence, and strengthen team connections both on and off the field.

The Growth of Norths Sirens Rugby
Women’s rugby at Northern Suburbs Rugby has grown rapidly since the Sirens were revived in 2018, following an earlier chapter in the 1970s.
Originally competing in Sydney Women’s Rugby 7s competitions, the program has expanded year after year through strong participation, competitive success, and a passionate club culture.
Recent Highlights
- Top Division 2 finishes in Sydney Women’s Rugby 7s from 2019–2024
- Second women’s 7s team introduced in 2024
- Representative players selected in Uni/AON 7s competitions
- 2025 Joy Johnson Cup Minor Premiers
- Undefeated regular season in 2025 with an average winning margin of 40 points
- 2025 Grand Finalists, narrowly losing 14–12 to reigning champions Hornsby
In 2026, the Sirens officially transitioned into a full XVs women’s rugby program — marking an exciting new chapter for women’s rugby on Sydney’s North Shore.
