We are proud to announce the club has extended Zak’s tenure as Head Coach for a further year which will be Beer's fifth consecutive season as Head Coach and sixth within our First Grade Coaching team.

Beer's first year at the helm in 2021 saw the club start the season with 8 consecutive wins before the Covid lockdown and competition cancellation, 2022 saw the club claim the Minor Premiership with all four of our Grade sides also going deep into the finals. In 2023 the club finished Minor Premiers and Grand Final Runners Up. This season, we are about to kick start our finals campaign against Warringah having finished fifth in the regular season.

We wish Zak, our coaches and all grades teams success in Finals Series.

A few words from Coach Beer about the extension:

"It is an honour to lead this great club. We have a special playing group right throughout the Club who have a genuine care for the Red & Black jersey and are forging their own legacy. Our Coaching team through the Grades have done a tremendous job this year in developing our players in our Norths systems along with building depth for us to be well placed coming into August."

"Whilst it's pleasing to see all Four of our Grade sides progressing through to the Finals, this is where the real journey begins. This is what we've prepared for since November and all focus is firmly on the next three weeks."

"
We are an aspirational club. Our goal is to continue to develop players into better people and better players and ultimately, we can only do this if our Colts and Junior Pathways connections are thriving. Our Colts Program is a significant focus area of ours for the 2025 season and together with Seth Stoltenberg leading the program, positive work on the Colts 2025 season is already well underway."

"Over the past 12 months seeing players like Reece Mau'u, Seb Cameron, George Thornton and Michael Scott all gain exposure to the Waratahs environment through the Norths system is a great sign, together with Max Burey, Henry O'Donnell and Sifa Amone in Perth who were each eager to don the Red & Black as soon as their season with the Western Force was over."

"The success of our Club is a direct result of all of the great people we have involved here, from the Playing group, Coaches and Managers, the Board, our Partners, and importantly our Red & Black supporters - who I know the players would love to see in your Red & Black in the stands at the grounds around Sydney cheering each of our teams on their 2024 Finals campaigns."

Club President, Brad Leahy said “The Board unanimously agreed to re-sign Zak as Head Coach for 2025. The Club has delivered one of its most successful decades in its history and Zak has been a predominant contributor to this success. Zak, his coaching team, and the playing group have faced many new challenges this season and they have been successful in qualifying all four grade teams into the finals this year. The boys firing now and the club is in a good place heading into the last three weeks of the season. On behalf of the board and myself, we would like to congratulate Zak on his well-deserved re-signing and wish him all the best for the rest of this season and the 2025 season”.

With all that said, Zak knows he and the current group have a job to do this season and will be doing all they can to ensure we continue to see success at Norths in 2024.

On behalf of everyone in the Northern Suburbs community, we wish Zak all the best for the remainder of the season and look forward to seeing our club continue to grow from strength to strength into the 2025 season.
