From the Sideline

The Shoremen go 6 from 6 at 'Home' in 2020.

Norths make a strong start

Norths made their intentions known early with bruising defence from the kickoff, following up with strong ball-carrying showing no hangover from the previous weeks win. Norths crossed early in the 1st half when captain Harry Burey sliced through to open the scoring following some dominant attack.

A new leader emerges

A double to James Margan has parachuted him to the top of the 1st Grade try-scoring leaderboard. Margan joins Reece Mau'u and Nathan Russell on 6 tries with Max Burey and Nick Duffy in hot pursuit with 5 tries each.

Meanwhile, Liam Dalibozek bagged another in 1st Colts taking his season tally to 13 from 10 rounds, and 3 grade tries for a personal haul of 16. An outstanding strike rate from the young winger.

Souths turn up for their season

Having named a powerful forward pack Southern Districts pressured Norths scrum early leading to their opening 2 tries. Despite Norths leading 21 - 14 at the break, Southern Districts came out desperate to keep their season alive in the second half. A quick try in the 2nd half got the visitors within 4 points, followed by some bruising defence. It wasn't enough to pick up a bonus point, leaving them 3 points outside the top 6.
