2 changes as Norths return to Bon Andrews Oval
After 11 years Northern Suburbs Shute Shield will return to Bon Andrews Oval in an exciting Home Game which welcomes Penrith back from the competition wilderness.
Round 2, 2009 was the last time Northern Suburbs ran out against Southern Districts on the oval named famously after Gavin 'Bon' Andrews, the club legend who amassed 648 games.
A great opportunity to connect with the community and keep some of our 2020 Home Games in North Sydney.
Having had to wait close to four months, there was no sign of players easing into the Round 1 action. With a shorter competition, starting fast is a must and every bonus point will be vital, come the latter stages.
With 5 points banked alongside all other Round 1 winners. Norths will take on a largely unknown quantity from Penrith. 2017 seemed like a year of improvement for the Emus under then-coach Julian Huxley, before being removed from the competition after four rounds of 2018.
Now under the guidance of John Muggleton, it's unknown what the Emus will bring having had the bye in round 1, their only prior match is a trial a fortnight ago against fellow competition newcomer Newcastle, in what looked a reasonably one-way affair.
For the home side, just two changes to the team with Charlie Jeavons-Fellows rotating into the 1st Grade back row after some strong performances and Hugh Taylor rotating to 2nd Grade. Jack Brewer named back in the starting line up at prop following a late change with Ryan Lomas before kick-off.
In's: Charlie Jeavons-Fellows, Jack Brewer
Out: Hugh Taylor, Ryan Lomas
