2 changes ahead of a trip to Manly.

Round 3 Preview

Competition front runners after the opening two rounds, a slight points margin has Norths well positioned ahead of trip across the spit bridge to Manly. While three other teams also remain unbeaten (Gordon, Randwick and Sydney University).

Coming off two strong wins in the opening weeks, it is the defensive effort that has coaches most pleased, having not conceded a try in either game.

Despite claiming two bonus-point wins, the attacking execution in the first half is the area they would most like to tidy up and Coach Va'a knows there isn't room for error against a strong Manly outfit who narrowly went down to Sydney University in round 2.

George Murrin gets his first start this season after some strong performances in the 2nd Grade backrow, replacing Charlie Jeavons-Fellows who suffered a concussion early last week. The additional height is set to be an advantage at lineout time.

While in the front row, Isaac Cavu will make his run on debut in place of Jayden Lynch. Having moved across the Nullarbor from Perth in 2020, Isaac has wasted no time in getting on the score sheet this season having claimed two tries in his two cameos from the bench.

It is an unchanged backline for the third week, with some combinations building nicely in the halves, midfield and back three. Head Coach Earl Va'a is also pleased with what he has seen from 2nd Grades opening performances and believes there is strong competition for spots right through the grades.
