From the Sideline

Sinclair kicks Norths to victory.

Goal kicking proves the difference
Each kicker and fly-half, Angus Sinclair and Tane Edmed both kicked 4/6 conversions. With Sinclair opening his account with 3/3 including 2 from the right-hand touchline kept Norths in front at the halftime break.

While the score changed hands 7 times throughout the course of the match. Sinclair got plenty of advice from the Rat Park hill, before landing a penalty goal beyond fulltime clinching the bonus point win for Norths.

Norths strong on the counter-attack
The strongest form of defence is attack. Despite conceding 38 points, it was the ability to turn defence into attack that kept Norths in control of the game.

Conceding a try only to hit back moments later on multiple occasions. With strong line speed and pressure forcing errors Norths capitalised on counter attack leading to the opening two tries.

Winchester strong on the right-wing
Incoming winger Connor Winchester had a strong impact in his first 1st Grade game of the season. Leading the 2020 club point-scoring tally, Winchester opened Norths account with a first-half try in the corner. However, it was his strong left boot that was of most value. Constantly relieving pressure from inside Norths half 50+ meters at a time.

Time is of the essence
3 weeks in a row Norths have conceded a try in the final minute of the 1st half, an area Norths will no doubt be looking to improve on in the coming weeks. It could have been a totally different story if not for conceding tries in the 1st and 40th minute.

...

Meanwhile, 2nd Grade got the job done in a similar fashion. John Pale kicking a penalty goal from the 40m line on the 80th minute with scores locked at 26 all.
